Part of the Stage6 Oversize CVT system, this Stage6 R/T Oversize Variator is designed for maximum performance and is best paired with the matching Stage6 Oversize Torque Drive. Oversized CVT systems have become a standard in racing due to their extended transmission range and improved power transfer across the rev range.

Advantages of the Stage6 Oversize CVT

This high-performance variator features optimized roller tracks specifically developed for Stage6 R/T engines. It uses six 19x15.5mm rollers (3.5g) and provides smooth, even shifting characteristics and consistent acceleration at all speeds.

The precision CNC-machined ramps are finished with a special ceramic coating that ensures long-lasting surface integrity and excellent grip. This eliminates the need for traditional blast cleaning used on steel pulleys, which is only necessary once the coating shows visible wear. The ramp plate’s central section has been reinforced, and a sintered bushing ensures optimal lubrication and extended lifespan.

Installation & Compatibility

The kit includes six 3.5g roller weights (19x15.5mm), a removable R/T plastic fan wheel (can be detached for drag racing), and a reinforced racing Medium torque spring. Special variator holding tools are available separately.

While the variator can be used with standard torque drivers, its full performance potential is achieved when combined with the Stage6 R/T Oversize Torque Drive and Oversize Drive Belt.
